Like a more modern take on Buddha Bar, Mirai is a large multi-level restaurant with lots of funky design features and some excellent sushi. Its location, just off Souk al Bahar and underneath The Palace hotel, ensures lots of trendy Old Town patrons plus a few well-off tourists.

The restaurant features live music from a resident DJ, a lounge upstairs for drinks before dinner, and a sushi bar in the main dining area downstairs. Food is New Wave Japanese Cuisine, which basically means very expensive sushi.

Karma Kafe

Karma Cafe has a sumptuous decor full of comfy furniture, opulent red drapes and antique statues. The food is Asian Fusion – a broad range of Asian food combined with some international and Californian flavours.

Karma Cafe is from the same stable as Buddha Bar, and if you like its fabulous Grosvenor House venue then you’ll probably like this restaurant in Souk al Bahar too.

Next to Trader Vics in Madinat Jumeirah, Left Bank has some solid international cuisine, but its also a great place to meet friends for a drink before dining elsewhere. If you feel like a bite to eat in between beers, try the Left Bank Burger.

A golf cart takes you out from the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi to this beautifully restored floating restaurant. Although the food is somewhat overpriced, this is a great spot for a romantic dinner. Pick the right time of year and you can sit on the top deck and do a little stargazing too!
